Embryology and Developmental Biology:
Aristotle also had interest in the field on embryology and for that purpose he for the first time open the egg of a hen to observe the development of an embryo and to study the heart beating phenomenon of the small embryo or organism in the egg.
He also put forward a relatively good idea about reproduction of organisms and the production of new individuals and offspring’s. According to him the mass and size of organism affect the number of individuals or off springs produced by an organism.
According to him the organism that have more body mass produce relatively less individuals than the organisms with less body mass. Keep in mind this concept he give a very simple example about the production of new individuals by animals.
He compared mouse reproductive process and number of individuals to elephant. An elephant produce fewer individuals than a mouse. So he stated that the organism with more body mass produce less individuals than the organisms with light body.
Soul, Dream and Memory:
Aristotle did lot of work on soul, memory and dreams. He stated three important types of soul of which human beings have a rational type of soul. According to Aristotle memory is a mental picture that can be recovered at any time.
